KCRG TV reports that the Iowa Department of Natural Resources is giving people the okay to swim at Lake McBride.
Earlier this week, the DNR warned people to stay out of the water after tests showed higher toxin levels in the water that can make people sick. Swimmers who accidentally swallow the water or breathe in the algae could suffer nausea, vomiting, asthma-like symptoms and other symptoms.
New test results released Friday now say that the water is okay to swim in and the lake is back to normal.
Residents can track the latest tests at all Iowa beaches by searching Beach Monitoring at www.iowadnr.gov.
