Final autopsy results have been released in the JoEllen Browning homicide case.

Browning was found dead in her Green Mountain Drive home on April 5th. The autopsy results, released Friday, confirm Browning died from sharp force injuries.

The 65-year-old Browning was the UI Health Care Director for Operating Budgets.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Iowa City Police Department are continuing to investigate the case. Approximately 20 agents and investigators have been involved in conducting upwards of 100 interviews. Additionally, lab results from evidence collected at the scene are still pending. No arrests have been made.

Investigators say they’re discussing all aspects of the case, including the sharing of information with the public, and are making conscious decisions about how to proceed. They stress this is being done to build the strongest case possible and not jeopardize their efforts.

The ICPD says information will be publicly released when it is determined to be available and appropriate.
