Ammunition was found inside Liberty High School Wednesday morning, leading school officials to send an email to parents explaining the situation.
Online records show North Liberty Police were called to the school just before 9:30am. According to an email sent to parents by the Liberty administration, a student found a piece of .22 caliber ammunition on the floor of the boys’ athletic locker room and reported it to administrators. A search of both boys’ locker rooms was conducted, but no guns or other ammunition was found.
A police officer was stationed at the school for the rest of the day, but administrators say they are confident there is no risk to students or staff.
