Vermont senator Bernie Sanders is coming back to Iowa City as a presidential candidate.
The Independent recently announced he is making another run at the Democratic presidential nomination, with his campaign announcing three stops in Iowa. After stopping in Council Bluffs on Thursday, Sanders will speak at the Iowa Memorial Union on Friday evening. His event will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Lounge and doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
He’ll then make a stop at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines on Saturday.
The last time the 77-year-old Sanders visited Iowa City as a presidential candidate, he brought with him multiple musicians while packing the Field House.
Sanders announced he was running less than two weeks ago, officially kicking off his campaign tour on Saturday in New York.
