The price for regular gasoline dropped six cents in the past week.

That’s the word from Gas Buddy, which released its weekly survey of over 2000 stations. It determined that the average price in Iowa is now $2.87 a gallon.  That’s 15 cents lower than last month and nearly 32 cents than a year ago.

Gas Buddy analyst Patrick De Haan said the drop can be attributed to concerns over tariffs and policy uncertainty, which could lead to a drop in demand for gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. He said  despite challenging months ahead, gas prices could start rising again if economic conditions improve.
