An Iowa City man was taken into custody Friday afternoon after he was reportedly found driving under the influence.

The incident occurred at 3:15 at the intersection of Keokuk Street and Highway 6 West. According to police, 43-year-old Emmanuel Bihoyki of Bittersweet Court was driving a 2012 Honda Odyssey and caused a three-vehicle accident.  Upon contact, he allegedly had bloodshot watery eyes, impaired speech, and had the odor of ingested alcohol.  Bihoyki reportedly admitted to drinking,  and after exhibiting measurable impairment on field sobriety tests, failed a PBT.

A subsequent Datamaster showed his breath-alcohol level at .195 percent. One of his minor children was with him in the vehicle.

Bihoyki was charged with first offense OWI and Child Endangerment. If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to up to three years in prison.
