A Tiffin man was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence after allegedly driving at speeds over 100 miles per hour last week.
At approximately 11:45 pm February 16th, 26-year-old Drew Zschiesche reportedly was observed speeding excessively, and a traffic stop was conducted on Village Drive in Tiffin. Upon contact, Zschiesche allegedly had the strong odor of ingested alcohol, bloodshot watery eyes, and slurred speech. He reportedly admitted thathe had been drinking since 6pm that day.
After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, a PBT showed his breath-alcohol level above the legal limit. A subsequent Datamaster showed his level at .153 percent.
Zschiesche was charged with his first OWI, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to one year if convicted.
