The City of Iowa City is taking registrations for another season of the Safety Village.
The village, located next to Grant Wood Elementary School on Lakeside Drive, is a scaled-down replica of Iowa City that hosts a safety camp every year for children ages 5-7 who have completed kindergarten.
Safety topics covered include pedestrian safety, fire safety, bike safety, water safety, and stranger danger awareness. Through hands-on activities, role-playing scenarios, and interactive demonstrations, children learn practical skills and strategies to stay safe in different environments.
This year’s camp is set for June 16-27th, with weekday sessions available from 8am-10am and 10:30am-12:30pm.
