An arrest has been made in a University of Iowa car burglary case.
31-year-old Jacob Swails of Bowling Street in Cedar Rapids was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 10:15 Friday night. UI Police say just after 5:45 on the morning of October 17th a witness reported seeing Swails rummaging through a vehicle parked at the Aspire at West Campus apartments on Hawkeye Court. Swails allegedly walked away from the vehicle with the owner’s registration and insurance card, got into his own vehicle, and drove away.
Swails is charged with 3rd Degree Burglary of a Motor Vehicle. If convicted, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
