Missing North Liberty man located at Riverside casino, leading to his arrest

A North Liberty man reported as missing was located at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort earlier this week, leading to his eventual arrest.

According to Washington County dispatch records, just after 1:45 Wednesday afternoon a caller reported that 32-year-old James Stewart of Elm Ridge Court and his car were at the casino. The caller said Stewart had been reported as missing, and court records show he skipped his Monday arraignment on a Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury charge. Stewart is accused of pouring two cans of beer on his domestic partner before assaulting her last May. He was also reportedly wanted for failing to appear on an Operating While Intoxicated – 2^nd Offense charge.

Stewart was transported to the Washington County Jail to await extradition back to Johnson County.
