Overnight ramp closures have begun at Interstate 380 and Penn Street in North Liberty.
As the Iowa Department of Transportation proceeds with work to widen I-380 between Penn Street and the Iowa River…as well as replace the Penn Street bridge…the ramps will need to be closed one at a time over the next several days.
- The northbound exit ramp was closed Sunday night into Monday.
- The Penn Street Bridge will be reduced to one lane today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- The southbound exit ramp will be closed Tuesday night at 9 to Wednesday morning at 6.
- Wednesday night at 9 the northbound entrance ramp will close until 6:00 Tuesday morning, and
- The Southbound entrance ramp will close from 9:00 Thursday night to 6:00 Friday morning.
The purpose of the closures is to prepare for work to widen and reconstruct the Penn Street interchange and widen I-380 between Penn Street and the Iowa River starting later this year. The project is expected to last through 2027.
