An Iowa City man is accused of hiding suspected cocaine between his toes as he was being booked into the Johnson County Jail.

Iowa City Police say 23-year-old Javante Owens of South Linn Street was being booked into the jail at 3:15 Sunday morning for Public Intoxication, Possession of Marijuana and Interference With Official Acts when a search of his person turned up four small, clear bags containing a white powdery substance hidden between his toes. The total weight of the bags is listed as 9.1 grams. Owens also reportedly had a large amount of cash on his person.

Owens is charged with a Controlled Substance Violation and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of 15 years in prison.
