Iowa City Police arrested a suspect twice within six hours last week.

57-year-old Charles Taylor…who list addresses in both West Branch and Swisher…was first taken into custody just before 1:00 last Friday afternoon after he stopped a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix in a crosswalk at the intersection of Cross Park Avenue and Broadway Street. He allegedly showed signs of intoxication, admitted to drinking beer before the traffic stop, and had a revoked license. Police say Taylor refused breath testing, and he was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated – 2nd Offense and Driving While Revoked.

Just before 7:00 that same night the same officer pulled over Taylor as he was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am at Highway 6 and Scott Boulevard after recognizing him from the previous arrest. Taylor was again arrested and charged with Driving While Revoked.

If convicted on all three counts, Taylor faces a maximum of four years in jail.
