An Iowa City man was arrested after allegedly violating a no-contact order and breaking property owned by the other party.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office was contacted Sunday afternoon about an intoxicated subject throwing things in front of a residence at the Sunrise Mobile Home Community.   Deputies made contact with the subject, identified as 29-year-old Miguel Borjas Torres. He was located in the walled-off front porch area. The reporting party, who resides in the residence, is the protected party in the no-contact order.

The protected party said Torres was acting crazy and breaking things in the front yard. At one point, he threw something that broke the windshield of the party’s Mazda sedan.

Torres was charged with 4th degree Criminal Mischief and for violating the No-Contact order. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to a year in jail.
