A West Liberty man has been taken into custody on a warrant stemming from an incident that occurred earlier this year.
Police say 36-year-old Amadou Niang of East 6th Street was on the 2000 block of Taylor Drive the evening of September 28th. He allegedly was involved in an altercation with a woman, who said he reportedly pointed his finger at her and stated, “I’m going to kill you, bitch” four to five times.
Witnesses on scene corroborated the victim’s narrative. The woman told police that she feared for her life.
A warrant was issued for Niang’s arrest on October 1st; he was booked into the Johnson County Jail Friday evening. He could be sentenced to up to two years in jail if convicted on a 1st degree Harassment charge.
