An Iowa City man was arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly trying to entice a minor to engage in sex with him.
According to police, 28-year-old Concepcion Turcios Ortiz of the Iowa River Mobile Home Community began communicating with a female he believed to be under the age of 16. During the alleged conversations, Ortiz stated that he wanted to have sex with the girl, and sent her two photos of his genitalia.
Ortiz then reportedly made arrangements to pick up the girl and take her back to his residence so they could have sex. When Ortiz arrived at the predetermined location, police took him into custody.
He faces charges of Enticing a Minor under 16 for sexual purposes, and telephone dissemination of obscene material to a minor. If convicted on both counts, Ortiz could be sentenced to up to seven years in prison.
