An Iowa City man has been given a deferred judgment and probation in a Washington County sexual abuse case.

23-year-old Camrin Lucas entered a guilty plea to charges of Assault With Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse and Incest in August. Three counts of 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse and another count of Incest were dismissed as part of the plea deal. Court records show last week Judge Daniel Kitchen gave Lucas a deferred judgment and five years of probation.

Washington County dispatch records indicate law enforcement made contact with Lucas near his Scott Boulevard residence in April. Lucas had warrants for his arrest out of Washington County for a series of reported incidents at a Kalona residence dating back as far as 2013. The Department of Health and Human Services was informed of the alleged incidents last February, touching off an investigation.

If convicted on all charges, Lucas would have faced a maximum of 50 years in prison.
