A North Liberty man was arrested after sending threatening messages to another individual.
Police say 23-year-old Keith Brown of Zeller Street reportedly had the intent of intimidating, threatening, annoying and alarming the victim with his messages, which were allegedly sent the morning of November 2nd.
One of the messages reportedly said, “Tell Yo Mamma keep her firearm, tell you sister don’t go to work, tell yo brother don’t go outside” while telling the victim to call the police, because they were going to die.
Another text said “how much u wanna bet ima get my ess, lmao; Somebody gon get hurt playin w Keith property. Call ya mamma tell her I’m on my way, we gonna see if I get arrested. Bro, I have firearms.”
A warrant for Brown’s arrest was issued on November 13th; he was arrested and charged with two counts of 1st degree harassment. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to four years in prison.
Judge Jason Burns issued a no-contact order; Brown posted bond and was released pending future court dates.
