According to a news release from the City of North Liberty, firefighters were dispatched to a report of a fire at 740 Liberty Way just before 7:00. Upon arrival, a police officer noted black smoke was coming from the east end of the structure.

As the initial North Liberty fire unit arrived, firefighters found black smoke coming from unit #4. Crews forced entry and found fire in the storage area as well as in the attic space.
