An Iowa City man was charged with his second OWI after a blood test showed he was under the influence of cocaine.

Officers were called to the intersection of Deforest Avenue and Ridge Street for a motorcycle accident the evening of July 19th.  According to the incident report, 28-year-old Keaton Vance of Broadway Street was found next to the cycle when officers arrived. It was determined that Vance ran straight through a T-intersection and struck a pole.

People associated with Vance indicated that he had been doing cocaine prior to getting on his bike.  He was taken to the UIHC main campus and provided a blood sample that later tested positive for cocaine.

Vance pleaded guilty to speeding an reckless driving on October 9th; he now faces an OWI charge which comes with a maximum sentence of two years in jail if convicted.
