A transient with a lengthy recent criminal history has been arrested again after she allegedly threatened to stab an Iowa City Transit passenger.

Iowa City Police say 28-year-old Jaetecia Higgins entered a transit bus parked at the East Washington Street interchange next to the Old Capitol Town Center just after 11:30 on the morning of October 22nd. Higgins allegedly began arguing with a male passenger, at one point reportedly telling him, “I will f— you up with the knife I got. I will stab you up.”
Surveillance footage reportedly shows the male telling Higgins to stop and leave him alone, but she continues the stabbing threats until the male exits the bus.
Higgins is charged with 2nd Degree Harassment. If convicted, she faces a maximum of one year in jail.

Higgins was arrested earlier this year for allegedly hitting another person with a landscaping brick on the 500 block of Southgate Avenue, burglarizing Formosa Sushi Restaurant on East College Street, burglarizing a residence in the Town & Campus Apartments on Arthur Street, and shoplifting 40 items at once from the downtown Target.
