A central Iowa man is accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old in Coralville.
37-year-old Jermeze Martin of Urbandale was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 10:45 Monday morning.
Coralville Police say Martin regularly abused the girl from August of 2020 to June of 2024, when the girl ranged in age from 12 to 15 years. Martin reportedly admitted to performing sex acts with the girl. Investigators say Martin also provided the girl with marijuana before the sex acts occurred.
Martin is charged with Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child and Drug Distribution to a Person Under 18. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of 50 years in prison.
