An area transient faces charges after an incident Tuesday at the Iowa City Post Office.

According to the arrest report, 42-year-old Anthony Wyatt was called in for sleeping inside the post office.  Officers made contact with him, and he allegedly provided a number of false names and dates of birth. He refused to leave the premises after staff and officers told him to do so.

Wyatt was escorted out of the building by officers, and he reportedly threw his drink at them.  He was then placed under arrest, and attempted to resist officers.

Wyatt was charged with providing false ID information, interference with official acts, and assault on persons in certain occupations. If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to up to 14 months in jail.
