Owner of gun used in Clock Tower Ramp shooting reaches plea deal

The owner of the gun used in a shooting at the Clock Tower Parking ramp in downtown Iowa City has reached a plea deal.

25-year-old Narada Poole Jr. of West Des Moines entered the plea on Thursday. Terms of the plea deal have not been released.

Poole is accused of providing his gun to his brother,24-year-old Marquel Poole, who then gave it to 24-year-old Alexander Voudhivong of Iowa City. Voudhivong then used the gun to shoot the victim multiple times in the Iowa Avenue parking ramp on the night of May 13th, 2023.
Voudhivong was sentenced in May to 12 years in prison. Marquel Poole was sentenced in July to five years in prison.

Narada Poole was initially charged with Dominion or Control of a Firearm as a Felon and Prohibited Transfer of a Firearm to an Unauthorized Person. If convicted on both charges, he would have faced a maximum of ten years in prison.

Poole is scheduled to be sentenced on January 9th.
