The Iowa Board of Regents has approved University of Iowa Health Care’s request to purchase a regional cancer care business with almost two dozen locations in mostly rural areas.
Mission Cancer + Blood has 22 locations in central and western Iowa. UIHC will now take over Mission Cancer’s locations as well as its equipment, inventory, workforce, supplies and business operations in a $280 million deal.
UIHC officials say the partnership will create a “comprehensive cancer care network uniquely positioned to tackle Iowa’s elevated cancer rates.”
