A Coralville woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly leaving two toddlers unattended.
Police say they were dispatched to the 10th street residence of 24-year-old Courtney Hennes at 10:37pm after it was reported she was passed out in her car. Upon contact, she reportedly had the odor of ingested alcohol, and mentioned that she left her children, aged 1 and 2, unattended in her apartment. She alleged that she put the kids to bed at 8pm, and left the apartment at around 9:30.
Hennes then brought the officers to her apartment, where they reportedly found one child asleep on the floor and the other awake behind the door. No one else was in the apartment.
Hennes was charged with two counts of Child Endangerment and could be sentenced to a maximum four years in prison if convicted on both charges.
