A North Liberty woman is accused of threatening her domestic partner with a knife.

Iowa City Police say 32-year-old Montray Oliver of Jaro Way arrived at the alleged victim’s residence at The Quarters on Highway 6 East just before 11:30 Friday night to retrieve her keys. When the resident answered, Oliver was reportedly standing at the door with a large knife. She demanded the keys back, despite them reportedly not being there.

The resident was cut on the finger with the knife and required stitches. Oliver then reportedly threw a liquor bottle through the alleged victim’s window before fleeing the scene.

Police located Oliver about a block away. They say she showed signs of intoxication.

Arrest records indicate Oliver and her alleged victim are in a domestic relationship and have lived together within the last year.

Oliver is charged with Going Armed With Intent, Domestic Abuse Assault Using a Weapon, Assault While Displaying a Weapon, 4th Degree Criminal Mischief, and Public Intoxication. If convicted on all counts, she faces a maximum of over ten years in prison.
