A Coralville woman was arrested after it was learned that she reportedly used the credit cards of an elderly patient at a residential care facility.

Investigators say 19-year-old Morgan Davis of 4th Avenue was employed at the facility earlier this year. Between May 17th and June 26th, she allegedly took the cards and made numerous unauthorized purchases totaling over $4800.  She reportedly would forge the victim’s name on restaurant purchases.

Davis was at the Coralville Walmart for one transaction, and was seen on surveillance video skip-scanning some of her items before using the stolen card to finish her purchase. The amount of unpaid merchandise totaled over $88. During a subsequent interview, Davis allegedly admitted to using the victim’s credit card.

A warrant was requested, and Davis was taken into custody. She’s been charged with Forgery, Unauthorized use of a credit card, financial exploitation of an older individual, and 5th degree Theft. If convicted on all counts, Davis could be sentenced to over 15 years in prison.
