A Solon woman who was arrested earlier this week for possession of methamphetamine and driving while barred now faces additional charges after allegedly using another person’s identity to register a vehicle last year.

According to the criminal complaint, 44-year-old Sky Moore of Randall Drive allegedly used the name, signature, date of birth and Social Security number of another person in order to obtain the title and registration of a 2008 Kia at the Johnson County Treasurer’s Office on June 1st 2023.  Moore reportedly purchased the vehicle from an area dealership the day before, and a photocopy of her Iowa ID was recorded.

The victim had never owned or titled the vehicle.

The County claims Moore renewed the registration on the Kia and applied for title and registration on a travel trailer using the victim’s identity on September 8th 2023.

Moore was stopped in the vehicle twice this year for driving while barred; on July 1st and September 30th. She faces two counts of driving while barred, along with a possession of a firearm by a felon from July and a Class B controlled substance violation from September’s incident. Those charges come with a maximum prison sentence of 34 years if convicted.

Moore now also faces two counts of 3rd degree Fraudulent Practice and Fraudulent Use of Registration, which would add another four years to her sentence if convicted.
