An Iowa City man accused of vandalizing the University of Iowa journalism building last month has been arrested again after reportedly skipping his arraignment.

47-year-old Carl White of the Town & Campus Apartments on Arthur Street was scheduled to appear in Johnson County Court on Monday. Court records show he failed to appear, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. White was taken into custody on Thursday.

Witnesses reported seeing White throwing rocks toward the Adler Journalism and Mass Communication Building on West Washington Street just before 7:15 on the night of August 2nd. One window was broken, with an estimated replacement cost of $800-$900.

UI Police say White admitted to throwing rocks at the building. A glass pipe with residue was allegedly found on his person upon his arrest.

White is charged with 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of 25 months in jail.

White has again been released from the Johnson County Jail, and a new arraignment date is set for Monday.
