An internationally-known Des Moines-based heavy metal band will be in Iowa City Monday, but not for a concert.
The Waterfront HyVee is is hosting a bottle signing and photo event on Monday with Grammy winning band Slipknot. Fans will have the opportunity to meet members of the band and buy autographed bottles of their branded whiskey.
Cedar Ridge Distillery worked with the band to produce Slipknot No. 9 Iowa Whiskey and Slipknot No. 9 Reserve.
No. 9 Iowa Whiskey is a 90-proof blend of three to four-year-old straight rye and straight bourbon. No. 9 Reserve is a similar blend, but it has a higher 99 proof and has an aging period of four-to-five years.
Monday’s event will run from 4-6pm.
