A political super PAC has announced they’re pouring more money into TV ads in Iowa to help Democrat Christina Bohannan flip the seat currently held by Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks.
The Gazette reports House Majority PAC, which is dedicated to electing Democrats to the U.S. House, announced it is placing nearly $3 million in additional TV ad reservations in Iowa and Virginia to run in the final weeks leading up to the November election. $2.25 million is earmarked for TV ad time in the Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Quad Cities media markets to boost Bohannan in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District race.
Earlier this month, the non-partisan Cook Political Report changed their take on the race from “likely Republican” to “lean Republican.”
Miller-Meeks won the seat over Bohannan in 2022 by over 20,000 votes.
