Two men have been charged for their alleged involvement in an assault that occurred earlier this year in downtown Iowa City.

The incident occurred outside a University of Iowa building on North Clinton Street at around 1:45am May 10th. 21-year-old Samuel Lococo of Mequon Wisconsin and 21-year-old Charles Roach of Eden Prairie Minnesota reportedly assaulted an individual causing injuries to their face, elbow and hands.

The two were identified by officers on scene, who noted that the two had blood on their clothing. Additional evidence obtained by police allegedly showed Lococo and Roach participating in the assault on the victim.

Warrants for the men were issued on August 29th; Roach and Lococo were arrested by University of Iowa Police on Thursday and face a charge of Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a year in jail if convicted. No-contact orders were issued by Judge Brandon Schrock for the protection of the victim.
