Fall enrollment numbers are in, and the University of Iowa is once again the largest public university in the state, after Iowa State took the title last year.

The Gazette reports official enrollment accounts released Thursday showed a 2.4 percent increase to a student body of 30,779, slightly above ISU’s 30,432.

And the University of Northern Iowa has seen their enrollment increase for the second straight year for the first time since 2010.  Current enrollment is 9283 students.

This year’s freshman class at the University of Iowa is the third largest in its history.
