Iowa City electrocution victim dies

The victim who was electrocuted during the moving of a house in Iowa City has died.

That’s according to a Thursday news release from the City of Iowa City. A previous news release on Wednesday indicated the Iowa City Fire and Police departments were dispatched to Herbert Hoover Highway and Eastbury Drive at 9:53 a.m. for a report of an electrocution.

Units arrived on the scene at 9:58 a.m. and provided medical attention to the victim, who was transported to a local hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries.

ImOn Communications has since issued a news release saying the victim was one of their employees.

No further information has been made available.
