An Iowa City man has been arrested on a sex offender violation.
38-year-old Lattiney Lockett is required to register with the Sheriff’s office in his primary county of residence every quarter due to an Assault on a Child conviction in Galesburg Illinois in 2006. He is categorized as a Tier III sex offender.
Johnson County officials say that Lockett failed to appear for his July verification. He was released from the county jail on an unrelated charge July 8th and failed to update his address within five business days as required by law.
A warrant was issued for Lockett’s arrest August 28th; he was taken into custody September 2nd and charged with 2nd offense Sex offender violation. If convicted, Lockett could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.
