A Hills man is facing a possible multi-year prison sentence after a search of his vehicle this spring turned up narcotics.

32-year-old Shadoe Van Damme of Oakridge Avenue was stopped by police the evening of April 27th. A search of the backpack in his Dodge Caravan allegedly discovered 12 grams of raw marijuana, over 5 grams of cannabis wax, an orange amphetamine pill, a clear plastic baggie containing meth residue, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.

A warrant was issued on August 13th and Van Damme was arrested early Monday morning. Due to previous drug possession convictions, he faces 4 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance-3rd or subsequent offense, Keeping Premises for controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on all charges, Van Damme could be sentenced to over 22 years in prison.

He was released on his own recognizance by Judge Deborah Minot and will be arraigned at a later date.
