Iowa City Animal Services investigates Thursday dog bite

Iowa City Animal Services is investigating a report of a dog bite reported Thursday.

In a release from the city, the bite occurred around 2:20 p.m. on the bike trail south of Friendship Street near Meadow Street. The dog is described as light gray, medium sized, and possibly a Pitbull mix. The victim was bitten while riding his bike past the dog and its owner.

Iowa City Animal Services is seeking information on the rabies vaccination status of the dog. If anyone has any information, they are encouraged to contact Iowa City Animal Services directly at 319-356-5295 or the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-6800.
