Two people injured in reported Iowa City burglary

Two people were injured in a reported Iowa City burglary last weekend.

According to arrest records, 28-year-old Daniel Borjas Flores of Broadway Street entered a mobile home in the Iowa River manufactured housing community on South Riverside Drive just before 4:15 on the morning of July 13th to confront his wife, who he believed was cheating on him. Police say Borjas Flores had no permission to enter the trailer.

Once inside, Borjas Flores allegedly found his wife with another man, and his daughter was inside as well. Borjas Flores is accused of fighting with his wife, giving her a laceration on her hand. He also allegedly got into an altercation with the other man, giving the subject a laceration to his head.

Arriving police say they found Borjas Flores in the driveway, showing signs of intoxication. He was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Burglary, Child Endangerment, Assault Causing Bodily Injury, Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury, and Public Intoxication. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of over 29 years in prison.
