A Washington Iowa man was arrested this week after allegedly attempting to entice a minor for sex.
Police say 32-year-old Rony Godinez Aguilar began communicating with an underage girl he believed to be under 16 years old. During the conversations, Aguilar allegedly stated that he wanted to have sex with the girl. He reportedly made arrangements to meet the female so that they could return to her residence to engage in sex acts.
Wednesday morning, Aguilar arrived in a vehicle other than the one he had described to the girl, parked at a distance and walked up with another man to the location agreed upon.
Aguilar was detained; the other man fled the scene and was apprehended after a brief chase.
Aguilar was charged with enticing a minor under 16 for sexual purposes, a Class D felony punishable by a prison sentence of up to five years if convicted.
