A reported road rage incident involving a gun has led to an Iowa City man’s arrest.
Iowa City Police say 23-year-old Drake Patterson of Dolan Place was involved in the incident just before 4:15 Thursday afternoon at the intersection of South Gilbert Street and McCollister Boulevard. Patterson reportedly pointed a firearm at his alleged victim after a traffic dispute.
Arriving officers say Patterson showed signs of intoxication and showed them where to find the gun. His breath alcohol level was measured at .152% at the scene and .133% on a Datamaster.
Patterson was arrested and charged with Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon and Carrying a Weapon While Intoxicated. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of three years in jail.
