A Clinton man faces several charges after police were called to trespass him from a Coralville laundromat.
At 1:40 Monday morning, the owner of Spin City on First Avenue contacted police to have 51-year-old Robert Truelson removed from the business. Upon arrival, the officer attempted to identify both parties involved, and Truelson allegedly kept giving a false name. Police ran a check on the false name in Illinois and Iowa with no success.
Truelson continued to use the false name until he was identified from past booking photos.
He was placed under arrest, and a search of his person reportedly turned up a baggie with suspected methamphetamine and a grinder with suspected marijuana.
A check of his criminal record found a previous drug possession conviction from an incident in September 2023; he was sentenced to 2 days time served and received a suspended fine of $855 on April 15th.
Trulesen was charged with meth possession, providing false ID information and possession of drug paraphernalia. He could be sentenced to up to 14 months in jail if convicted.
