An area transient with a history of petty theft charges has been arrested again after allegedly using a stolen credit card.

The victim reported that her wallet and credit cards were stolen on April 25th.  Four days later, 32-year-old Yshan Rogers allegedly was caught on camera at the Laundromania location on East Bloomington Street around 4am and used one of the cards, charging $3.25.

A warrant was requested, and Rogers was arrested Wednesday. He’s been charged with unauthorized use of a credit card and 5th degree theft. If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to up to 25 months in jail.

Rogers has a history of petty thefts in area laundromats where he reportedly would steal quarters from machines, the latest being April 12th, when he allegedly broke into a machine on South Dubuque Street and stole about $5 in quarters. He’s due to be arraigned on June 24th on a 3rd degree Theft charge.
