A Coralville man who skipped his probation revocation hearing last month was arrested after an altercation with police.

38-year-old Kwame Moss of Holiday Court was outside the Casey’s on Commerce Drive Friday at around 2:40am when he allegedly stepped directly in front of officers. He then reportedly pushed an officer with his chest after being told to step back.

Moss was placed under arrest for assault, and reportedly disobeyed commands to stop resisting as officers attempted to place him in handcuffs.  He allegedly continued to step in front of officers, and was uncooperative when searched.

Moss was reportedly intoxicated, with bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech and the strong odor of ingested alcohol on his breath. He refused a post-arrest PBT, and a half-empty bottle of liquor was found on his person during a post-arrest search.

Moss had an active warrant after missing his May 17th probation revocation hearing.

He was charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, Interference with Official Acts and Public Intoxication for the incident at Casey’s. He faces up to 14 months in jail if convicted on all counts.
