A Cedar Rapids man was sentenced last week for selling meth and money laundering.

The Gazette reports 35 year old Albert McReynolds was found guilty by a federal jury in November of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, conspiracy to commit money laundering and engaging in a monetary transaction involving property derived from unlawful activity.

Evidence presented at trial indicated McReynolds was trafficking meth between September 2020 and November 2021, along with eight others who were indicted in 2022. He had a California supplier who sent packages of meth through the mail to several addresses in Cedar Rapids.

McReynolds reportedly vacuum-sealed the money he made from selling meth and mailed it to multiple different addresses associated with his drug source in California.

McReynolds got a 30 year sentence with 10 years of supervised release after fulfilling his term.
