A Wisconsin man was arrested on a warrant after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend earlier this year.

Police say the incident occurred March 24th at the Super8 Hotel on 1st Avenue in Coralville. That morning, 44-year-old Troy Berg of Ridgeway Wisconsin allegedly threw a phone at the girlfriend, who was sitting in his car.  The phone struck her right arm and reportedly caused pain, and Berg allegedly scratched her below her nose, which caused light bleeding.

Berg reportedly admitted on officer bodycam that he violated the no-contact order and spent the night at the hotel with his girlfriend. The two cohabitated until December last year and has three other domestic abuse charges on his record.

A warrant was issued on March 26th; Berg was booked at the Johnson County Jail on Sunday. He was charged with Domestic Assault causing Injury and Violation of No-Contact Order. If convicted on both counts, Berg could be sentenced to up to 13 months in jail.
