Area  transient accused of pulling gun at Shelter House

An area transient was arrested over the weekend after allegedly brandishing a gun during an altercation at Shelter House.

Police were dispatched to the shelter at 2:15pm Sunday on reports of a fight in progress involving a gun.  Upon arrival, it was learned 23-year-old Rayvell Cunningham was observed drawing a 9mm pistol from a fanny pack and pointing at another male while making threats to kill him.

Cunningham showed signs of intoxication and reportedly admitted to drinking. A post-arrest PBT showed his BAC at .153 percent.

Cunningham was charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon while Intoxicated; Assault while displaying a Dangerous Weapon;  and Public Intoxication.  If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to up to over three years in jail.
