An Iowa City man who voluntarily turned himself in on an arrest warrant faces other charges after allegedly bringing drugs in his car with him.
20-year-old Precieux Nzoni of Broadway Street reportedly turned himself in to the Coralville Police Department on February 21st on a 2nd degree Robbery charge, arriving in a 2009 Audi and parking his car there. It was towed pending a search warrant.
The warrant was secured and executed the next day.
Officers allegedly located over 20 blue pills, $440 in cash commonly associated with drug transactions, nearly three grams of suspected marijuana, 3 pieces of aluminum foil with burnt residue, 2 rolled dollar bills with burnt residue, and a rolled index card with burnt residue. The pills were sent for testing and determined to be fentanyl, and the marijuana was also positively identified.
Nzoni was additionally charged with a Class C Controlled Substance violation, Failure to Affix Drug Stamp, Marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on the additional charges, Nzoni faces up to another sixteen years in prison.
