Weather permitting, the National Weather Service’s Cedar Rapids radio station will be operational again ahead of this weekend’s predicted storms.

The station went down 11 days ago, and now say they’ve received the replacement equipment. National Weather Service Meteorolgist-in-Charge in the Quad Cities Ed Holicky says they will be installing a new antenna and cabling, but installation may be a problem due to winds. Contractors need to go up to 250 feet to install the new equipment.
