Multiple agencies responded to an early Tuesday morning restaurant fire in Tiffin.
According to a news release from the Tiffin Fire Department, the city’s firefighters were called to a fire alarm at Back Berner on Marengo Road at 4:22 a.m. Arriving units joined firefighters from Oxford in discovering the restaurant’s sprinkler system had successfully extinguished a fire in the kitchen. No one was present when the fire started, and damage is estimated at $25,000.
Firefighters remained on the scene until about 5:30 a.m. The cause remains under investigation.
